Celebrating Earth Day

Happy Earth Month from the Seville Classics team! What better time to share more about our sustainability journey than during this month? Reaching our sustainability goals is an ongoing process, but it’s one with meaningful impact. While we continue working toward long-term improvements, our team finds ways to make the most of everyday moments and small, intentional changes. Sustainability isn’t just about big milestones; it’s about the habits we build along the way.

• Outdoor Garden: Our office garden continues to grow, producing fresh snap peas, radishes, and baby kale for easy, everyday snacking. It’s a simple way to stay connected to where our food comes from while encouraging more mindful consumption.
• DIY Projects: We encourage you to upcycle or recycle your packaging whenever possible. From seasonal décor to practical storage ideas, repurposing materials is a creative way to extend their life and reduce waste. Check out a couple of our past ideas for a bit of inspiration!
• Bring Your Own Plates & Utensils: During our monthly lunches, the team can enter a raffle by bringing their own reusable plates and utensils. This small switch reduces single-use waste and is a win-win for all. It is a habit that anyone can adopt in their daily routine, whether at work or on the go.
• Community Donations: We’re on an ongoing journey with Allied Woodshop, having donated over 6,500 lbs. of wood to date. We’re proud of this partnership; it’s one more way we’re working to close the loop and reduce material waste. Stay tuned to learn more about this collaboration in a future article. This is just the beginning of the partnerships we hope to grow.

Greener Practices

While meaningful progress takes time, we believe small changes can lead to lasting impact. We’ve introduced a few simple traditions that make it easier to build better habits day by day. These small shifts create meaningful changes over time:

Earth Day Activities

This Earth Month, we took time to connect with nature through hands-on activities and a little friendly competition.

• Raised Bed Refresh: Our team prepped our garden raised bed for summer crops, planting seasonal favorites like tomatoes, zucchini, squash, beans, herbs, spinach, radishes, and carrots (it’s like one big salad). It was a chance to step outside, reset, and reconnect with the environment.
• Earth Month Challenge (Bingo with a twist): The team was challenged to adopt sustainable habits this month, many of which they may already practice, like reducing waste or conserving energy. Each bingo row that was finished was a raffle entry for a chance to win a Zero Waste Starter Pack. The goal was to build awareness and make small adjustments that add up overtime. You’re more than welcome to try the challenge with a group of friends for friendly fun; or simply use it as a reminder of ways you can reset and reconnect.
• Trivia Lunch: Nothing says team bonding like testing your knowledge on the planet we call home. During our Earth Day trivia lunch, teams were quizzed on environmental facts to see who could bring home bragging rights. Give these a shot: See if you can guess the answers. (Answers at the bottom!):
1.) When was the first-ever Earth Day celebrated?
     • April 22, 1965
     • April 22, 1980
     • April 22, 1970
2.) What are the “Three R’s” of waste reduction?
     • Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle
     • Rest, Relax, and Reset
     • Record, Review, and Revise
3.) What material can be recycled endlessly without losing quality?
     • Paper
     • Glass or aluminum
     • Plastic

Sustainable Products

Our commitment to sustainability also shapes the products we create. While this work is ongoing, we’re taking steps toward more responsible materials and processes. Moving away from a “take-make-waste” model allows us to better manage resources and design products with longevity in mind:
• Natural Materials: We continue to use natural wood across our UltraHD® rolling workcenters, workbenches and worktables, and our lighted workcenters. We’ve also expanded into acacia, offering both indoor organizers and an outdoor collection that bring natural warmth to everyday spaces while highlighting durable, long-lasting materials.
• Recycled Materials: The bins of most of our bin racks are now made with 20% post-consumer recycled content, helping reduce reliance on new materials and supporting a circular economy approach to production. Using recycled materials helps minimize waste and lowers overall environmental impact.
• Reducing Waste at HQ: At our headquarters, we compost food scraps from daily meals and company lunches, keeping organic waste out of landfills and contributing to a more mindful workplace.

What Does Resourcefulness Mean to You

For Albert, resourcefulness is “solving issues the smartest way and the simplest way,” and it starts with slowing down. His role involves diligently reviewing customer service requests and shipping replacement parts; whether for rolling workcenters or shelving units. Taking the time to fully understand each request helps reduce waste and prevent unnecessary returns. “It takes a little longer,” he says, “but I’d rather spend an extra two or three minutes upfront and not rush, than risk sending the wrong part and spend more in shipping and materials. It’s getting it right from the start that matters.”

Customer Service Parts Ready for Shipment.jpg__PID:b97027ad-d4d4-4206-90fb-e534585abb0b

For Carmen, resourcefulness means “finding practical solutions, using the resources we already have, and looking for ways to improve processes”. Lourdes describes it as “doing the best you can with the tools, people, and knowledge around you.” Stephanie views resourcefulness through a creative and sustainability-focused lens. To her, it’s about “adding another use to what you have on hand. Seeing possibilities everywhere and an invitation to be more creative.” She compares it to everyday habits like reusing boxes for gifts or rewearing a favorite sweater simply because it’s already there. She uses this perspective in her work, finding resourceful solutions that support sustainability goals while encouraging others to rethink what’s possible.

If this adorable elf placing a cardboard star on a cardboard tree isn’t convincing enough, here are a few more reasons to inspire you:
·Sustainable & Resourceful: Easily upcycle packaging from gifts or deliveries; brighten your space with materials you already have.
· Creative & Personal: Handmade décor adds sentimental value and gives the season a deeper, warmer feeling.
· Budget-Friendly: When you use what you have, beautiful decorations come with no added cost.
· Quality Family Time: Crafting is a fun, engaging activity for all ages. It’s the best way to get everyone gathered around the table.

Together, We Can Make Change

We believe transparency is an important part of progress. While we’re proud of the steps we’ve taken, we know there’s always more to do, and we’re committed to continuing that journey. Every small action adds up. Whether it’s bringing your own utensils, repurposing packaging, or simply being more mindful of daily habits, we can all play a part in creating a more sustainable future.
